Description of service
We paid a professional photographer to fully shoot our wedding and reception all the way to the late hours. We wanted to capture more than just the ceremony, we wanted to remember everyone having a great party, so that's what we focused him on. It cost $1600 total. $1100 of that was the wedding and then we paid him $100 and hour for 5 hours to just shoot for "Art/Action" type shots all through the reception and after party.
Review of Service
To be honest our ceremony shots weren't anything great. We had reviewed his previous work, but ours just didn't seem to sparkle. The additional photos we had him take did turn out exactly as we had hoped though. I guess in a way it was probably our expectation that made it work out like this. So our wedding album is really just a bunch of well shot party photos, full of life and energy. All in all, I think we are pretty happy.
Tips
Set your goals for what you want. We went a different route than traditional photography and we are happy with the results. Make sure you communicate what you want, don't leave it up to their artistic vision. We specifically didn't want black and white, which was an original point of contention. At the end of the day you want to look back and remember it as you wish so just make that vision clear to your photographer.
