Description of service
We recently had a HORRIBLE hail storm and it damaged our house a LOT to say the least. We are having to have windows replaced, doors, some siding, screens, but our biggest expense was the roof. It really took a beating. I'm not sure if it was already a little damaged before the storm but we definitely had to replace it. A lot of people in our area are getting their's replace because of the storm as well so we just asked around to find our who did the best job for the least amount of money.
Review of Service
I never knew that so much stuff went into replacing a roof. I just thought that you put the shingles up there and nailed them on or something. However, there are a lot of materials that go into the process. The 6000 dollars included materials and labor which included removing the old shingles and replacing with new shingles. They also put down OSB board on the entire roof, and put all new flashing, felt, and pipe flanges. Then when they were done they hauled off the old materials. Our roof looks great and I'm really satisfied with the results.
Tips
We used the 25 year shingles which is probably your best bet and they last longer. Also, make sure that the company you hire to do your roof is backed by the Better Business Bureau. Check around with friends, family and neighbors to see who they recommend. A little background work will save you time and money.
