Description of service
I was aging and had had my hair colored in a salon a few years ago, but then decided to do it myself. As a matter of fact, the hairdresser gave me instructions and told me what products to use. So I did it myself for a few years. But then I noticed the coverage was not so good anymore and I decided to go to a salon to have it done. I found a really good salon through the help of friends. I inquired as to the cost of the color and was told they couldn't give me a firm quote until they saw the condition of my hair. They did say that they thought it would be in the $70 to $100 range. When I went to the salon, the hairdresser said they needed to pre-treat my hair first before they colored it because it was very coarse. I questioned them, but I thought they knew best! After all the pre-treatment and the coloring was done, I told them I didn't think that the gray was enirely covered. They felt that was the best they could do.
Review of Service
I feel like I was taken advantage of. I don't think my hair really needed the pre-treatment. I think they just did this to make money. Since I had previously colored my hair myself, I thought that I knew what needed to be done. I just think they could have used a better product to achieve better results. I will try another salon next time and hope for better results. I had used a semi-permanent color and the salon used a permanent color. I don't know if this was the problem or not.
Tips
Make sure you know who is going to be working on your hair. Ask questions before you even set an appointment. Know what the cost is going to be up front. If you don't agree with them, go to another salon.
