Description of service
For a regular PPO, that is a health insurance not requiring referrals, I pay $600.00 a month for membership. It is a lump sum, part of which is paid for by my employer and a percentage being deducted from my salary. The service includes all health services, including vision check-ups as well as 15-20 therapy sessions for special cases. Dental insurance is not included in the package.
Review of Service
I had health problems early on and had to use my insurance almost immediately after receving the card. The registration process if quick and convenient, and they even send you an electronic copy of your membership card which you can already present to the service provider. So far, the claims from my health providers are processed quickly and mailed to me as soon as it is settled. If I want to know the status of a claim in advance, I can check it on my online account. The website is very comprehensive and allows me to monitor not only my claims but also my health reports and prescriptions.
Tips
Your employer usually gives several options for Health Insurance providers. I found that it was useful to speak to my co-workers and find out their preferences and reason. Most insurance companies also have websites with participating providers so if you have a favorite doctor or hospital, you can check if your prospective insurance is accepted there.
