Review of Service
I am very pleased with the quality of instruction for my son's violin lessons. The teacher is a member of our city's philharmonic and is very professional, yet she relates well to her students and they all seem to respect her. I also like that she acknowledges that my son has many other interests besides violin, that playing the violin is his window in to appreciating classical music, but that he does not aspire to be a great violinist. She doesn't push him too far, yet she does keep him motivated. The only negative I can think of is the fact that lessons are in her home, rather than a separate studio. The instructor tries to keep distractions to a minimum, but as she has children of her own, interruptions do occur occasionally.
Tips
I would strongly advise parents to sit in on lessons, especially for younger children, and take notes to help with the home practice.
