Description of service
This service is for a personal injury lawyer. I was recently injured in a car accident, and my car was damaged as well. I was carried off to the emergency room at the time of the accident. Since the accident wasn't my fault, I hired a lawyer that was recommended to me by a family member. My final settlement ending up being $3900 and my lawyer took one thrid of that, which was about $1300.
Review of Service
The service was good, but since we settled out of court I felt we could have gotten more money by going through a trial. The trial would have been a long, drawn out process and would have netted very little more than I got so the lawyer recommended that I take the settlement. The first offer was $2500, and my lawyer countered that offer and that is how I ended up getting the $3900. So I guess the lawyer did earn his keep.
Tips
A lawyer taking one third of your money from a personal injury claim seems to be the industry standard. I did call around to several different law offices, and even did some search on the internet to find out what my options are. You should search for cases like your own, to see how much money you can get and what kind of lawyer you need to get.
