Description of service
I really missed school and so I decided to start taking classes at a local junior college to learn new things and meet new people. I have always like science, so the first class that I took was a beginning biology class. The cost of the 3-credit class was $248, which included $76 per credit hour for a total of $228, plus a $20 lab fee for the materials that we used during our sessions in the lab. The credit hour cost was for an in-state resident and tuition is higher for out-of-state students.
Review of Service
Although I am a little older than most of the students at the junior college, I really enjoyed the experience of being back in school and the class that I took was interesting and challenging. The cost of tuition at the junior college was significantly lower than any regular college or university, so I feel like the price was very reasonable and the service provided was excellent. I learned a lot in that class and other classes, and the professors and facilities were just fine and I can't think of anything that I missed by going to a junior college. There were additional one-time fees when I first started, like fees for registration, ID card, parking permit, etc., but overall it is affordable and a quality service for me.
Tips
The tuition rates are often set by the state or county, so the cost may be the same at all of your local junior colleges. However, there may be lower fees per credit hour if you actually live in the college's district, so definitely look at the school that is closest to your house for some additional savings.
