Description of service
The service is about tuition costs and paying for college tuition. Choosing to attend a community college for the first two years of a bachelor's degree rather than paying for the high costs of college tuition at four year universities. The cost is $85 per unit.
Review of Service
I originally thought applying to a community college would be a hassle and that I would be subjected to an administrative nightmare but it wasn't. Also, I was originally worried that the quality of education would be far less than that at state schools and DEFINITELY less than private universities. I was wrong. There are issues with a community college that are less likely to occur as you move up the tuition scale--like dealing with dumb people--but there are still professors that care about education and the smaller classes offer better interaction. Choosing to spend 85 dollars per credit rather than 300 or even 1000 dollars (depending on state or private estimates) was a great decision
Tips
Before taking classes, meet professors that teach those classes. Sometimes community colleges have a turn over of poor adjunct professors that you are less likely to get at a larger university. Also, if you plan on going into a field that requires research experience, you may want to find out if the community college has cross-over or transfer capabilities. For example, I am a psychology major and I did not originally realize that I would have to make up a lot of lab and research work that most larger universities offer at the freshman and junior level.
