Description of service

This was the cost for a lawyer to represent my husband in a case involving check fraud. We also paid for an expert witness and of course various court fees. The total for the lawyer though was $3500.00.

Review of Service

We were disappointed as the lawyer did not get my husband found not guilty but I'm not sure the lawyer could have done much more. My husband did not knowingly commit a crime but was an unknowing accomplice. We told he lawyer this and they advised us to take our defense a different way. He was the expert so we did as he said. I'm not sure it was the best advice. He also suggested we not take the plea bargain offered to us and again I'm not sure that was the best advice. The lawyer did take a lot of time to do his best for our defense though. We definitely felt he knew the case well and cared a lot about how it turned out, and for more than just his professional reputation.

Tips

If you feel your lawyer is taking a turn you don't agree with, put your foot down and insist that he or she changes the direction of the defense. It's your money and you have the ultimate say in how it goes down.
