Description of service

When my husband was in a wreck in December 2006 our insurance company wouldn't cover a rental car. The lawyers that were working with us got us one, but it was only for THREE days. So we were left on our own to find a means of transportation because we needed two cars. So we decided to go with a rental car place.

Review of Service

We decided on an SUV and we signed a month long contract to get a better deal because we weren't sure when the insurance companies were going to settle. It was either that or pay around 75 bucks a day. So we signed the contract and it was supposed to be around 1200 dollars for a month. Then they tell us that we also have to pay another fee because my husband was 22 and if you are between the ages of 21 and 24 you have to pay an "under age" fee, I'm assuming for inexperienced drivers. After that and the sales tax we ended up paying around 1900 dollars for ONE month. I guess looking back we didn't really go about this in the right way. We ended up paying a lot of money just to drive a car back and forth to work for a month. And it sucked gas like crazy.

Tips

First off, if I could do it over again I probably would have looked in the classifieds for a really cheap car. You can find plenty of cars that run for around 1500 or less if you find a good deal. Secondly, if i had to RENT a car again I definitely wouldn't get an SUV. I've always heard that they were gas guzzlers but I had no idea that they were that bad.
