Review of Service
The service we received when we had new tires put on the motorcycle, plus the minor tune-up was unbelieveable. The new tires alone were in the range of $400, including labor. We purchased z-rated racing tires, so the price was outstanding. The place did not look like it would do a good job, but it ended up being a great little neighborhood repair shop for motorcycles. The mechanics were friendly and knowledgable about what they were doing, and thorough in any explanations. They did not try to "add-on" any additional services for more money. Instead they were honest and straightforward, and gave the bike a new set of tires and a tune-up while we waited--in all about an hour of our time.
Tips
Make a lot of phone calls and ask tons of questions. We had taken the motorcycle to several other places, and a lot of mechanics weren't honest, and kept trying to tell us we needed more work than we actually did. We called a number of places and spoke with dozens of repair shops before deciding on one that would meet our needs. The cheapest isn't always going to be the best, but neither is the most expensive. Get a second opinion on the work and the pricing you are having to be sure everything adds up. Don't get taken for a ride by an untrustworthy mechanic who will throw in a bunch of unneccesary services.
