Review of Service
The service was really quite good. My husband is extremely mechanically savvy, so finding somebody who we are impressed with is often difficult. We found a good mechanic who was inexpensive and honest and up front with us. He changed the oil and replaced it with 100% synthetic oil, changed the air filter, checked tire pressure, the works. The service was very thorough, and left no stone unturned when it came to checking over every aspect of the motorcycle. He didn't try to pressure us to have unnecessary work done to the motorcycle, which many mechanics will try to do. The overall price was $100 after taxes for oil change and tune up, which can't really be beat.
Tips
Call around, and ask people you know for the names and numbers of good mechanics. If necessary, get a second opinion. If you are just having routine maintenance done, don't let them pressure you into having things done that don't need to be. Don't necessarily go with the least expensive mechanic, and check to see if it is something you can actually do yourself. You can save a lot of money if you can change your own oil, as you are essentially then only paying for the oil and not the labor.
