Description of service
I took my 2003 Harley Davidson 100th anniversary edition Road King Classic to the dealership where I had purchased it to get its 15,000 mile maintenance. This scheduled maintenance calls for an oil change, fluid checks, brake inspection, and overall bike inspection.
Review of Service
The service that I received was less than satisfactory. When I called to schedule the appointment I inquired why the price was so high. They told me that a certified mechanic would spend three hours going over my motorcycle. When I dropped the bike off they told me that I could pick it up in exactly three hours. My buddy and i drove by the dealership again about an hour later and my bike was still where I harked it, yet when I came back 2 1/2 hours after I dropped it off they were finished. I asked them about this and was told that there were three mechanics working on it at one time. It was obviously a lie since there were only two mechanics in the garage area. I paid the bill and politely told them that I would not be back for any service or any new purchases.
Tips
When getting a bike serviced it is best to ask around for a reputable shop. Until this occurence I would only take my bike to a dealership to get worked on but now realize that not only are independent shops usually much cheaper, when you get to now them you'll find out they are usually much more honest.
