Description of service
I needed new phone line and DSL wired into house. Company came out, wired house for phone and DSL service. It took about 1 hour to do the Installation. DSL Modem was shipped seperately and I had to install this modem myself.
Review of Service
Again the biggest problem with ordering most technology type services is getting through the conflicting information and pricing packages. Once I figured out what I wanted the process was pretty quick from there. Installation occured within 48 hours of order placed (which is a good turn around time). Installers were on time and worker quickly and efficiently. Installer was knowledgable and explained everything to me. I was very pleased with Installation process. On the downside, the DSL Modem was not installed at the same time as the Phone line. Although the item is plug n play, it would be nice to have it put in at the same time. I did the installation without any problems.
Tips
How to survive getting DSL
1. Make sure you do your research before you get on the phone with the company you want. They will just confuse you. I have found that the info on teh net is accurate and there are plenty of great sources on the net to explain everything to you (most of the operators you will talk to are not very knowledgable and might not even be in this country)
2. Make you installation date for a day after you know you will receive your modem (if company ships it to you) It is worth waiting to make sure you have no issues with add on installation.
3. DONT BE FOOLED BY DSL SPEED. All of the companies try to sell you on minimum speed service and then you will have to upgrade because unless you only do email you will need faster service. Go with the highest speed service from the beggining, it will save you the headaches later.
