Description of service
This service is for Voice Over IP telephone service for my home. The service connects to my home's wifi network and looks just like a normal cordless phone. I can use the phone, and my phone number, any where I can find a wifi signal. I have used it at numberous coffee shops and resturants because they offer free wifi. I get unlimited local and long distance calling for $24.99 a month, which translates to just under $40 a month after taxes and surcharges.
Review of Service
The service I get is pretty poor. Not every where I go in my home I get a good wifi signal and voice quality suffers because of this. When I am near the wifi router I get great voice quality, crystal clear in fact, but I can't always stand by my router. I carry the phone with me when I leave, just in case I run into some wifi, but mostly I use my cell phone when I am out.
Tips
There are a bunch of companies that are now offering Voice Over IP telephone service, and they are always lowering the price so they can be the cheapest. Take advantage of this and find the company with the lowest price.
