Description of service
I started phone service with Verizon AND DECIDED ON THE FREEDOM PLAN with fiber optic service.A technician came to my house and hooked my phone up.He also gave me some filters that had to be connected to the phone jack in order to reduce static and interference.The Freedom plan included long distance and unlimited local calling and also allowed m to use other features such as call waiting and call forwarding.Although I was offered internet and cable service as a package with the phone,I only chose the phone service.
Review of Service
The technician was very efficient and did the job in a timely manner(20 minutes).He showed up on time and was very professional.Every step of the set up process was explained to me, and I got some great advice to maintain my service.Everything was tested before he left.I was not charged a set up fee and my service was free for the first 3 months.
Tips
It would help if you have a phone on hand already so the process can run smoothly.Always try to request a technician that works for the company itself rather than an independent contractor.Most of the independent contractors will charge a set up fee which can sometimes be as much as $75.00.
