Description of service
I had 2 of my molars sealed and paid for this service out of pocket. I did not have insurance at the time to assist me in paying for the service. This was done in conjunction with a cleaning and exam, but the charges for sealing were 35 per tooth.
Review of Service
I would say the quality of the seals is good. I have not had any problems to date. The customer service was fair to average. I had to schedule my appointment about 8 weeks in advance. Once I was in the office, I had to wait about an hour to be seen. Of course, once you are in the exam room the dentist/asst. keeps leaving you thee for extended periods of time so that you wind up spending most of the day there. It definitely adds to the anxiety most people feel when going to get their teeth worked on.
Tips
I would suggest making sure you have the whole day free. That way you won't be stressed if they take longer than you hope, which they probably will. Also, if you are not insured, have an idea of how much you can afford before going to the dentist. Don't pay for unnecessary cosmetic things like whitening if you don't have insurance, it is just too pricey. Also, ask about financing and payment plans.
