Description of service
The $24 price is for one business card sized ad placed one time in a small weekly newspaper. It does not include the cost of color but does include any artwork or designs you want.
Review of Service
The sales representatives at the newspaper offer good advice as to what will and won't fit into an ad. They do, however, generally prefer to push you towards larger size ads. One way they do this is by making prospective ads for you in various sizes, being sure that the larger ones are nicer looking with more detail.
Tips
Know ahead of time how much money you can budget for all of your advertising. Call ahead and get quotes from all the different media outlets you plan to use (newspapers, radio, television, etc.)and use those quotes to determine where your money would best be put to use. Do your homework and find out which is the best outlet for advertising for you. If you want to use radio, is it a popular station in your listening area? If you have your mind set on television, find out what percentage of the viewing area actually watches the station. Is public television, cable or satellite more prevalent in your area? Make sure that your prospective customers are within a comfortable driving distance from you. Don't use a television station that has the majority of its viewers 2 hours away, for example, unless you offer a very unique idea.
