Substandard slow service for car that wouldn't start  more... close row

Description of service

I took my car to a licensed mechanic when it would not start or would just cut off in the middle of the road. The whole radiator had to be replaced and the engine flushed out. There was a mud like substance that someone had put in the car to sabatage the running of it. The garage took about ten days to completely remove the old radiator flush the engine out and clean it. Then the mechanic installed a brand new radiator to insure that the car would continue to run properly.

Review of Service

The service was sub standard. Upon dropping the car off I was told that it would take about three days that there was only one car ahead of mine. They said they would have the parts overnighted so that they could start on the repairs as soon as possible. Then when three days had passed and I called to check on my car they said they did not have the parts yet. Three days turned into ten and the car still would not crank on the first try after I picked it up. About a week later the altenator went out. I felt like if it took them ten days to fix it then they should have found all the problems.

Tips

Make sure you go to a licensed mechanic. Also, make sure that you get the time frame and the price in writing before leaving your vehicle. Work out a deal if possible that if it takes longer than promised there will be some kind of discount.
