Description of service
I paid $140 for a three part career counseling session with a career coach who worked at a local employment placement agency.
Review of Service
I wasn't sure exactly what I should do with my life so when I heard about a place that does career counseling, I was very interested.
I didn't get exactly what I had hoped to from the sessions, but I'm still glad I went.
The first meeting was a one-on-one session where I filled out a very long and comprehensive questionnaire about my interests. It took about an hour
The second session was where the career coach went over the findings. They shared with me some careers that my questionnaire said I would enjoy. Several of them were great options that I hadn't really considered. This meeting lasted about 45 minutes. I was also given advice as to what kinds of classes and courses I should take to be able to fulfill their advice.
The last session as a group session where the company basically tried to sell us on their classes and courses. This lasted about an hour and a half and was really a waste of my time. However, the other two parts made up for it, leaving me feeling satisfied after all was said and done.
Tips
If you are paying a bit of money for advice on career counseling, you shouldn't have to listen to a sales pitch. Make sure this is not the case before you sign up.
