Description of service
A local bank regularly offers their "travel club" members discounted rates on chartered bus tours. Recently my aunt went on one of these trips which included 5 days and 4 nights, traveling from Arkansas to Mississippi to Georgia and back home through Memphis. Along the way they toured some of the Delta's old plantation style houses, as well as a detailed tour of Savannah, GA and even made a brief stop at Graceland, in Memphis.
Review of Service
My aunt loved the ability to have all of the "necessities" (bathroom, television, etc.) available on the bus itself. The group that went became very close knit during the trip and most have since decided that they would like to travel together again somewhere this fall.
The trip was extremely fast paced, but there was also plenty of downtime along the way to the other destinations on the schedule.
Tips
Keep a close eye on weather conditions, take a cell phone and extra money! In my aunt's case, the arrival of the bus back to Arkansas coincided with a major snow/ice storm which shut down some of the major highways because of wrecks and other hazards. The driver, after being stuck in one spot on the highway for 4 hours, eventually managed to get them to a hotel where they had to spend an extra night away from home. Luckily, my family was able to keep in touch with her as she had a cell phone. I think she actually enjoyed having an extra day with her new friends.
