Description of service
My daughter's transmission died, we had to buy a rebuilt transmission and have it installed.
Review of Service
My daughter is a part-time worker and full time student so price was very important to us (especially since the "bank of mom" was footing the bill). Numerous people recommended the business we went to, including my mechanic. It was a private shop, not a franchise. Their service was excellent. They quoted me a price and stuck to it. They had the vehicle repaired within one business day. I had checked around and the price they charged was equal to or less than the other's would have charged (one place, a franchise, would have charged $600 more for the same service). They were polite and very professional. Even though I know nothing about cars I felt that they treated me with respect and that is very important to me.
Tips
When I was getting quotes I contacted several places. The one I choose was recommended by my regular mechanic, as well as by several people who had their transmissions replaced by this same person. This was a small transmission shop - not one of the big names. I would recommend looking for a private shop that someone you know has referred, rather than going with a big name shop.
