Description of service
I had two of my front teeth bonded in order to try to lighten the color. The process felt very much like getting a filling or preparation for a crown which included numbing the area, alot of drilling, and then follow on matching the color of the sealant to my natural teeth. The entire process from start to finish took about an hour and a half, and I was still numb when I left the dentist's office.
Review of Service
I was not happy with the service, I did not realize my teeth would be so changed, and not in a good way. Alot of my natural enamel was removed and replaced with a sealant that looked great at the time but has already started to discolor. I do not feel that I was properly informed about the long term implications of this service. It looked nice when I had it done but that was not that long ago and the sealant or bonding material has already started to discolor.
Tips
I did this on the recommendation of a friend, but I wish I had researched the long term effects of bonding before I spent money on this. I would have gone for a more permanent solution instead of bonding. Now I will have to do something else to color the discoloration of the bond, probably a crown or veneer or implant are my options. A lot of natural tooth enamel was removed during this process.
