My doctor recently suggested that I try yoga in order to help me to manage my stress better. I went to a local yoga studio that a friend recommended in order to give it a try. I attended the introductory level classes where they worked with me, not to make me perfect my poses, but rather to make me do my best to do the poses. The classes were all 90 minutes long.
Review of Service
Yoga was much more challenging than I thought it would be. The instructors were all personable, and tried their best to push me to best. Unfortunately, despite the niceness of the staff, and their professionalism, yoga simply isn't for everyone. I did not find it relaxing, which was the whole point of the exercise, and for that reason I ended up not continuing past the initial 10 sessions and decided to work with my doctor to find something else that I could enjoy that would reduce my stress.
Tips
If you are interested in Yoga, it is something worth trying, as there are many people who find it a wonderfully rewarding experience. When looking for a studio, look for one that you feel comfortable at, and where the instructors will treat you right.
