Description of service
I rented a 10 foot truck to move some small household items to my new apartment.
I had professional movers coming the next day to move my heavy and large furniture and boxes. So instead of trying to pile up alot of my small household items into my car, and make a ton of trips back and forth, I thought it would be a better idea to rent a truck...however at $19.95 for the truck, 99 cent per mile, and refilling the truck when I returned it, I saw how quickly that final cost added up.
Review of service
Wow, where can I start, the truck they gave us was old, and probably needed to be retired. The truck made a lot of noise while driving it, the ride was extremely shaky, and the truck literally drank the gas as soon as we put it in there. On a good note however, the truck was large enough for the job, and I returned it as soon as possible.
I was a bit suprised by the final price, considering the fact that I only moved around the corner, less than 4 miles away, and I only made a few trips back and forth.
But replacing the gas in a rental truck will definately cost you more that the rental itself.
Tips
The next time I rent a truck, I will definately request a newer truck or I will just go rent from another company. When a truck is older, and in need of a tune up and other maintenance, you are guaranteed to get HORRIBLE gas mileage.
