Description of service
The price was for rental of a 17 foot truck, an appliance dolly, and insurance, all for three days of truck use Friday to Sunday. The price is after the return of the truck with the used gas being replaced.
The place offered a number of moving supplies including boxes of staggering variety, packing sleeves for dishes, both bubble and foam wrap, and, of course, tape. They also had trucks sized from rental vans to 24' long trucks. Prices vary depending on the size of the truck, how long you need it, and how far you'll be going.
Review of service
So my friend was planning on changing apartments. He was still living in his first apartment after college and hadn't moved in most of a decade. He figured he'd be able to move all his stuff in his car, like he had when he moved in from the dorms in college. He made a couple trips in his car before he called some friends for help.
Once everyone arrived, I saw there was no truck, so I called around a few places to see if anyone had one available (it being a weekend at the end of the month, not many were (lots of people moving). After a while I found a place, put a hold on the truck, and went to pick it up with one of my friend's friends.
The truck worked fine, didn't break down, and hauled the stuff like a champ.
After he got to his apartment, my friend decided he had too much stuff ,because not all of it seemed to fit in his new place. So he started planning a garage sale...
My friend is an idiot, but at least he paid me back for the truck.
Tips
If you're planning on moving and having a garage sale, make sure to do it before you move. It could save you enough space in the truck to get a smaller truck.
