Description of service
I rented a truck from a local hardware store so I could transport some lumber home. It only cost $30 because you get it for a good deal if you spend over $500 on merchandise. The normal cost of renting the truck is $50 and the cost of delivery is even more than that so I went with the truck rental. The exact break down of rental costs is $20 for the first ten miles and $10 for each additional ten miles. So it's basically $1 per mile. I went about exactly 30 miles home and back to the store. They do keep track of the mileage to. So you'll have to pay more when you turn in the truck if you go over the mileage. The catch is that you can only rent it for increments of 10 minutes. So it will cost $10 more if you go over the limit you paid for.
Review of service
The truck made things a cinch. I wish I owned my own truck but it's nice to know that you can cheaply rent a truck if you need it for a day. There is a time limit on how long you can have the truck. You can have the truck one hour for every 20 miles you pay for. So I had the truck for one and a half hours. It was easy to drive and unload. It also had a very large truck bed so you could transport a lot of large items.
Tips
I would rather have borrowed a friends truck but this was the next best thing and it made transporting lumber easy.
