Description of service
I rented a 10 foot box truck to help move a friend from one neighborhood to another, and the total cost of $126 included a $90 rental fee for the truck, 24 cents per mile of use and taxes of $16. The rental period was for 24 hours, even though I returned it within about 9 hours because it was no longer needed.
Review of service
The truck was waiting for me when I went to pick it up and it had a full tank of gas so that I could start the move right away. It was an automatic transmission, which was what I had requested when I called to reserve the truck, and it rode generally well. The inside of the cab and the back section were both clean and the lock worked. One small detail that was a problem was that the longer trucks include a loading ramp, but the 10 foot trucks do not, so we had to use a step to get in and out while loading the boxes and other items. The price was fair and was a little better than other rental companies that I called, so I was satisfied with the cost and with the vehicle, which turned out to be exactly the size that we needed for the day.
Tips
Be sure to call several rental companies to get an idea of the cost, and also make sure that you ask for an automatic transmission if you do not know how to drive a standard transmission vehicle.
