Description of service
We had ceramic tile installed in our entryway, hallway and kitchen, and paid $8.35 per square foot, which covered the materials and labor costs for about 300 square feet of area. It was all done in one day and the same tile was used in all of the areas.
Review of Service
We looked at about 20 different types of tile, in different sizes and shades, and chose the style that we wanted and got a good price for the product and the installation. We didn't have any problems with the installation and the only real challenge was to frame the tiles properly around the island in the kitchen, which the workers did nicely and made sure that the half-tile sections were under the counters and not in the middle of the room. Because we purchased the tile and labor from the same retailer, we got a bit of a break on price, but also were able to arrange for the installation to be done within a week with materials that were already in stock. The price for the whole job was not an amazing bargain, but it was fair and the work was done to our satisfaction.
Tips
We have seen some homes with different styles or sizes of tile in adjacent rooms, and that has a major impact on the total price, so my tip is to find a size and shade that works in all of the rooms that you want to tile and then use it in those rooms to make it look better and to save costs and time.
