Description of service
After a new home purchase we needed a tile job done in our entry. We paid a flat 750 in labor to a general contractor for a 7 x 8 section of 6"x 6" Slate tiles. That included all the removal, preparation, Tile Setting, Grouting, and Sealing.
Review of Service
Our contractor did a good job. He was timely and able to finish the job in one week. He was also very entertaining and sang in Spanish while he work, which was mostly interesting cause I think he was Irish born. He kept his work area very clean and didn't seem intrusively messy to our home or anything like that. We very much enjoyed having him here while he worked, and remember him fondly as we admire our entry.
Tips
The best general contractors are the ones that care. I know there are some bigger business type contractors but I really prefer the one man show who cares about your home remaining a home, even when there jackhammering. You should always check for references and insurance, but make sure if someones going to be working in your house for a week that you like who they are. Bake them cookies if they do a good job.
