Description of service

We bought a house that had carpet in the master bathroom and walk-in closet. It smelled terrible and wasn't in good shape. I bought 10 boxes of vinyl tyles at $10.00 a box, $9.00 for tax, and $100.00 for labor. This was for approximatley 300 square feet.

Review of Service

When we bought the house, we knew that the carpet in the master bath would have to be replaced. After getting several estimates (at more than $1,000.00 each), we decided to put the project on hold. We couldn't use the closet or bathroom because of the smell, so after a couple of months I convinced my husband to try to replace the floor himself. We didn't have a big budget, so we decided to go with vinyl tile, which was on sale at a local home improvement store. Because of work, my husband couldn't find time to work on the floors. A friend recommened someone that had done several "handy man" jobs in her house. He removed the old carpets and replaced them with the vinly tiles. He did a great job and we saved a lot of money. I wasn't happy about having to use vinyl at first, but it is a big improvement.

Tips

For simple flooring jobs, try using a handy man rather than a professional contractor. You will get the same quality of work at much lower price.
