Description of service
I signed my 16 year old up for driving school. The cost was $250 for 5 lessons. The lessons were an hour a piece.
Review of Service
Because my insurance offers a discount for teen drivers who've taken driving school we signed our son up for a class. We figured we'd get the $250 back in savings off our monthly premiums. We'd already taken our son out numerous times to practice driving after he'd gotten his permit. So, he was already a pretty good driver.
That's a good thing because he didn't really learn that much in the class. The first 2 classes were all lecture where the students learned about traffic signals and laws. This information was all very basic and stuff he already knew. It was basically a waste of time.
The next 3 classes the students were able to actually practice driving. There were 3 students per car so they got about 15 minutes a piece to practice driving.
While the class was worth it in that it lowered our car insurance premiums, if he hadn't already been a good drive her definitely wouldn't have learned enough from just this class.
Tips
Having a teenager enroll in a driving class can lower your car insurance rates by a lot, but unless they are very extensive classes they probably won't teach your teen all they need to know.
