Description of service
As a gift for my nephew, I purchased driving lessons for him so that he could get his learner's permit. The service included six sessions of about two hours each, with two sessions being classroom only and the other four sessions being driving instruction with one other student in the car. The cost for the six lessons was $240 plus an administrative fee of $35 for the total $275 cost.
Review of Service
My nephew did get his learner's permit and later got his license, and there have not been any accidents or tickets, so I consider the driving lessons to have been successful and valuable. I chose this particular program because I thought the two classroom sessions were very important to emphasize rules, safety and other operational aspects of driving that generally aren't taught or understood while on the road. The program was also good because only one other student driver was in the car during the outdoor lessons, which meant that each student got an hour's worth of instruction but could also learn by observing. The price was reasonable for the service and my nephew said that the instructor was helpful and patient.
Tips
There are quite a few options for driving lessons, but my tip is to go with the program that will make the student most comfortable, even if it costs a little more. Most kids will sign up for a particular course, so that is the one to use if possible so that your student will focus on the lessons and not worry about being part of a different program solely based on cost.
