Description of service
My daughter turned 16 and needed to learn to drive. We enrolled her in driving lessons and a class to satisfy the requirements in our state for teenagers who wish to get a driver's license. The class lasted 6 weeks and met 3-4 times a week for lectures and an additional 3 hours a week in a car with the driving instructor. They also included a few hours practicing on a computerized driving simulator. At the last driving session, they gave a practice driving test, similar to the one given at the DMV so the students could see how they were likely to do on their driving test.
Review of Service
This kind of class/lessons is required in our state for anyone under 18. I think it is a very important way to make better drivers and keep people safe. This was a really good addition to our instructions to our daughter and she really did well on both her written and driving tests. She passed everything the first time around. We have found that lessons like these really help kids think about the seriousness of driving and help them learn to be more responsible on the road. We were very pleased with the outcome.
Tips
It is important to find a teacher that keeps the kids' attention. There is so much information they need to learn and remember, that they really need to be engaged at every level. Also finding a driving instructor that balances a level of comfort with firm correction as needed is an important part of it.
