Description of service
The bill that I received for an ambulance ride I had to take while living in Santa Ana, CA was for $1160. The ride was approximately 8 miles in length.
Review of Service
The service I received from this particular ambulance carrier I was told was very good. I had fainted while staying at my grandparents home because of dehydration so they called the ambulance. They informed me that they were at their home within 10 minutes of calling. From what I remember, everyone was very professional and friendly while they loaded me into the ambulance and for the short drive to the hospital. Once at the hospital, I remember very clearly that I was able to go right into the hospital with no waiting to get a bed. I also remember some of the medics from my ambulance crew staying around for a while briefing the doctors and nurses as to what they knew about my condition and how I was doing up to that point.
Tips
Since I didn't have any doctors or hospitals I was familiar with when this happened as I was out of town, my grandparents told them to take me to the hospital that they were familiar with instead of the closest hospital. This proved to be very advantageous even though the hospital was farther away, they knew many of the doctors and staff and because it wasn't a life threatening situation, they knew they could spare a few extra minutes to get me to a hospital that they were familiar with.
