the Cost of Ambulance Rides

Transportation to the emergency room (five miles away), started IVs in both arms, watched my vitals, assessed my injuries plus the medical supplies used during transport.

The ambulance arrived quickly along with fire rescue workers. They quickly got me out of the car making sure not to move my neck or injure my back. Once in the ambulance they quickly got to work taking my blood pressure and hooking up a heart monitor. Then they went to work starting IV fluids while in a moving vehicle. The EMS workers were very nice, talking with me the whole way there, making sure everything was fine all the while they continued to do their jobs. They got me to the hospital quickly and safely. Once there they efficiently told the doctors of my condition so they could get to work on my injuries. I was very pleased with the prompt service and friendly EMS team. For the short distance that they had to drive me I do feel the cost is a bit high but I did receive excellent medical care.

If you find yourself in a situation like this let the people do their jobs and take care of you, but don’t feel like you cannot ask them what is going on. Most of the time they will tell you without having to ask.
