Description of service
We were in Durango,CO at a resort and I tripped on the steps leaving our cottage. I fell to the concrete walk and was unable to move my right leg. My husband was there and called the office. The manager called for an ambulance. Everyone came running to see what happened. I was their entertainment for the night! Afterall, I was lying there flat on my back.
The cost of the ambulance was $1124,00, which included the paramedics.
Review of Service
The paramedics arrived in about 10 minutes and examined my leg and ankle. They placed an air splint on my whole leg and ankle to keep it from being moved. They did a temperature check, and other medical checks and then placed me on a stretcher and into the ambulance. While on the trip to the hospital they gave me oxygen and hooked up a heart monitor. They tried to keep me calm, which under the circumstances was not easy to do.
They were very professional and kept talking to me to be sure that I didn't go into shock. The service was good and I have no negative things to report about the service.
I do not have comparisons to review concerning the costs but it appears to have been in line with the costs of an ambulance service and paramedics.
Tips
If you require an ambulance service have someone with you, if possible, to answer your medical history questions.
Be sure to tell the paramedics of any allergies or heart problems.
Try to remain calm and not panic.
