the Cost of Wedding Cakes

We had a local baker create a beautiful 7 tier cake for us in addition to two smaller cakes. It cost $850. It was extremely ornate and obviously delicious. The secondary cakes were made for our guests known to have food allergies.

Our baker did a great job. They spent some time with us selecting style, colors and doing plenty of tastings (my favorite part). When they delivered it went well beyond our expectations and we were really grateful. I feel like we got a better price than many of our peers. Also, I think they made it bigger than they intended. We had so much leftover that we practically couldn't give it all away.

Take advantage of the tastings! Tell them "It's not quite right" then you get to come back next week and try again! I can't help it I love cake! Also, even if your future wife and baker don't agree with you that it should have a giant flame coming out the top and play the theme from rocky, stick to your point. That way you can concede this and trade it away later for something valuable like, not having to wear a stupid cumber bun. Oh, don't let em put any of those silly looking little plastic people on top. I somehow convinced my wife to let me build us in "Lego People" and I kid you not, that's what we used! My wife is awesome, my baker doesn't like me.
