Description of service
We had a five tier cake with one of the tiers being Styrofoam, but decorated. The cake flavors were varied, but we didn't have fancy fillings. The cost also included delivery.
Review of Service
When we started looking for a baker for our cake, we knew it was going to be difficult. We wanted our cake to look like the pagoda at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. But white and plastery. We had watched too much ace of cakes. So we started shopping around and every one of the local bakeries was very nervous about doing it, until we went to a bridal show. There we found 2 places that were willing to give it a try. We met with both, and decided to go with the less expensive, smaller bakery. Their cakes were sculpted themselves rather than being made almost entirely of fondant. The cake was delivered on time, but didn't look exactly like what we wanted. It was nonetheless beautiful and very delicious. It was a great price.
Tips
I wold definitely shop around and go for what you want. Going to different vendors gave us a sense of what was available and what we wanted. What we could afford was easier to determine as well. Also, we got too much cake. We ordered cake for 150 people and though that many came, it was still too much cake. It's all in my mother's freezer now. The bridal show was a great place to check out the local options.
