Description of service
The cake for my daughters wedding was a large, five tier cake that included a waterfall and even had a "rocky" area that was made to look like mountains, but was actually made out of hard candy. We had to order the cake two weeks in advance from a local bakery that dealt with specialty cakes, and we had to pay up front. The day of the wedding, the cake was delivered by the bakery at no extra charge.
Review of Service
The cake was flawless and was a big hit at the reception. The cake was easy enough to order, but quite expensive. The bakery sales person really sold this cake to my daughter, kind of pushy in fact, and I had to pay for it. The cake had all different kinds of flavors, there was a section with red velvet, another with white, chocolate and even swirl. The top of the cake had a mountain looking theme with the bride and groom figurines standing atop of the highest peak.
Tips
Shop around for different bakeries and see who has the nicest presentation for the lowest price. If you are really strapped for cash, there are dozens of web sites that give you step by step directions on how to make an excellent wedding cake.
