Description of service
Due to a leak, I had my old septic tank dug up, replaced with a new, more modern model, and the mess cleaned up. While this was an expensive service, it became absolutely necessary due to failure of the old tank. The old tank was removed, and while it's a messy job, there wasn't anything other than overturned dirt in my back yard when they were done.
Review of Service
The local company who did the job wasn't the lowest bidder, but had fantastic reviews and lots of satisfied customers. For $7500, they came out and surveyed the site, and performed the tank replacement in just a day's time. This included them digging out the old tank, draining it with a specialized machine, busting it up with a backhoe, and removing it. They then replaced the whole tank, and cleaned up the mess in my back yard back to just-as-new condition. While $7500 is on the middle-high side of estimates I received, the professionalism and quality of service made this contractor my top choice for such things from now on. Overall, a fantastic experience.
Tips
Get bids! The best thing you can be is an informed customer, and always, don't be afraid to ask one contractor to beat another's price. They're always interested in some friendly competition!
