Description of service
When our old septic tank collapsed, we knew we had to immediately get something done. Luckily, we had already bought a new tank and just needed to have it installed, hooked up, and a few more field lines run.
Review of Service
My mother-in-law knew of a guy that did septic work, owned a backhoe and was going through a slow time for business. He agreed to come out and install our septic tank for $700, hooking up the line from the bathroom and running a few more field lines.
He was called on Monday and was at our home on Wednesday to perform the work. He asked where our old tank was located and if we knew where our existing field lines were, then he immediately got to work.
The entire process took a while, during which time we couldn't use any plumbing items (sink, dishwasher, washing machine, toilet, etc.) so we had to drive to my mother-in-law's house for such basic things as using the bathroom. Needless to say, we were eager to have our own bathroom and other facilities available to use by that afternoon.
Tips
Although the person we used wasn't listed in the phone book or in a newspaper ad, we were very satisfied with the quickness of his arrival and how quickly he finished the job. Asking around and then finding someone going through a slow work period is even better.
