Description of service
My wife and I have an HMO insurance plan that covers certain medical treatments. The total cost is $140 per month for both of us to be covered under the plan.
Review of Service
We have Medicare but wanted additionsal additional coverage based on our health conditions. I researched various plans and we attended seminars presented by health care organizations. Most offer similar plans but have different exclusions and percentage of payments. The organization and plan we selected has met our needs and we have had no problems when submitting bills to them.
They have paid the contractual amounts due and have provide us with a clear explanation of how the payments were calculated. Payment were made to the providers in a timely manner.
The only drawback is not knowing what the future rate increases will be next year. We expect an increase but do not yet know the amount.
At this time, the service is a fair value based on its cost.
Tips
Before signing an agreement for any contract check on the company's standing with the BBB and if possible, with the State Attorney General's office concerning any problems. Be sure that you understand what is covered and what is excluded from payment in the contract. Also, is renewal automatic or do you have to request it on a scheduled basis?
