Description of service
After I took a corner too short and plowed in to the back of a parked car, I thought all was lost. I was test driving a customer of mine's bike because I was considering buying it - to save on gas money and help the environment.
Review of Service
I had to have the front tire completely repaired, but I was told what I paid was cheaper than replacing the tire. Also, if I got a new front tire, I should get a new back tire as well. The cost of the tire repair was $130.
I had to have the front fender straightened out and repainted and the cost of that was $50.
He was a friend of the customer I eventually bought the bike from and he said he gave me a good deal. He owned a bike shop, so I'm not talking about somebody doing it in their garage at home.
I checked around online and suspected that he didn't give me such a good deal - what he charged seemed to be in line with what I should have paid.
I'm not complaining - he did a GREAT job.
Tips
Shop around and make calls. I was surprised, although I checked on prices AFTER I had the work done, there is a huge difference in price from shop to shop.
Also, of course, try to get recommendations from friends, family, and co-workers.
