Description of service

The cost covered the removal and replacement of a bent handlebar. Cost of the handlebar was about $140 extra.

As a full-service motorcycle shop, they're able to do a variety of repairs and maintenance work as well as performing modifications and upgrades to various parts of the motorcycle. They specialize in American-made brands, but will work on anything. They also sell motorcycles, and their parts and accessories.

Labor is billed by the hour, minimum one hour. And parts are charged at store prices.

Review of Service

So, like an idiot, I dropped my bike in the garage and bent the handlebar. I could still ride it and I knew there was a bike shop just around the corner, but they were primarily a dealer for another major brand of bikes. Fortunately they had parts in stock that would fit my bike.

It took a couple hours to get the work done as there was a bit of a wait for the mechanics services, so I walked the half mile home to get other stuff done while I waited. The controls had to be removed from the old bar and then installed on the new bar and tested to make sure they worked right. I got a call when all the work was done and walked back over to pick it up and pay. No fuss.

Tips

Don't drop your motorcycle, it's a rookie mistake. And if you do, don't admit to it where anyone who knows you can find out. If in doubt, make up a story about how you got the damage. If it involves fighting wild animals barehanded, all the better.
