the Price of an Exam for Birth Control

I had my annual exam and my birth control pills re-prescribed. The cost of the appointment was $45.

I was very unhappy with this experience.

I had gone through this clinic last year to get my birth control. I went to have my prescription refilled last month and was told that it was expired. No one told me on my last refill that it was my last one. That was annoyance number one.

I talked to the pharmacist and asked if there was any way it could be extended by one month until I could get the exam and get things taken care of. They said this was pretty standard, they would call my clinic and likely it would be no problem.

Well, long story short, it was a problem. They insisted I go in before renewing, even for one month. Then they made me wait 8 days for an appointment. Then they charged be $20 more than they had last year.

The doctor was hurried and inpolite and overall I was not happy with my service.

Be sure to keep close watch on when your prescriptions expire. Do not count on them to tell you when you're about to run out of refills.
