Description of service
The shelter that we visited had different prices for dogs and cats, as well as higher prices for cats that were younger and needed to be spayed/neutered. The cat we chose was already fixed so we got the lower adoption fee of $37, which included a plastic bowl for food or water, along with some brochures about how to take care of cats, how to introduce them to other animals, and information about the health of this cat.
Review of Service
The adoption process was really very simple, as we looked at lots of cats and chose the one that we wanted after having her taken out of the cage and spending a few minutes with her. We had to fill out a basic form with our information and details about any other pets of young children in our house, and then we paid the $37 fee and got the cat. I was surprised that they accepted a paper check, but that was convenient for us, and the entire visit lasted about an hour. I was surprised that the amount was so low, but dogs cost more because they need bigger cages and more food, and our cat did not need any medical procedures, so that is why we got the lower price. We were extremely satisfied with the amount for the service, and the level of service was very good too.
Tips
Just make sure that the animal you pick is the right one for you and your family, and also have your house prepared in advance with bowls, toys, and other things so that you don't have to worry about them after you get the cat home.
