Paid $35.00 to adopt cat. No tax. Came with shot record, micro chip inserted and a free visit to local vet. The cat had already been spayed. She was in good health, the reason for being euthanized was she had been there too long. Also, bought a bag of litter and cat food to donate to the animal shelter. The shelter is old and smelled horrible but they did seem to care for the aminals.

i received quality service, the cat was going to be euthanized and therefore had been at the shelter a long time, so the cost was less. With the adoption fee, the cat was inserted with a micro chip and a free trip to the local vet. The micro chip is painless for the cat and it is nice to know we have some way to find her if she were to get lost.
Tips
Be prepared when visiting a shelter for cats that it is extremely heart wrenching and very hard decision to pick the cat. At least when you make your decision, you know you will be saving the life of a cat. The facilities are not the best in the world but the animals seemed well fed and without diseases. The cages were clean and fresh water was in their bowls.
