Description of service
I set up a new phone service to the apartment that I moved into a month ago. When I moved into it there phone did not have a dial tone. I called the customer service number and told the repair tech that I my new phone service did not and they said they would send someone right away. Four hours later I called again when nobody had shown up. I was told that a tech had come to the building, knocked on my apartment door, and tried the door where the phone connections were and that I didn't answer and there door to the phone room was locked. When I informed them that I had been home all day waiting for them and that I knew that the door was unlocked because I had checked it earlier and that nobody knocked on my door the repair tech got an attitude. I told them I wasnt going to deal with their attitude and that I wanted to speak to a manager. When I explained to the manager what the tech had said they checked and the repair tech that was suppose to come check my phone had lied and hadn't even come to my town. They had another gentleman stop by and check it and found that the connection in the phone room was wrong and they had activated the phone jacks in a different apartment with my phone number. The tech fixed the problem and I now have a home phone line.
Review of Service
The customer service rep and the repair tech that I talked to on the phone the second time were very rude and inconsiderate. The tech that actually showed up to my apartment was very nice and knew what he was doing. He informed me that they have had other problems with the tech that lied and were going to be transfering him to a different office type job instead of in the field work. About a week after he had been there I recieved a bill for having to have a repair tech come out and hook up my phone since they couldn't do it from the office, I called and complained about the service I had recieved and they removed the $50 charge. If they would have done the job right and actually shown up and not lied about it to begin with I would have paid the charge, but for poor service I didn't feel that I should be charged.
Tips
Keep notes as to who you talk to and what time when you call in repair/new service set up and what they said. That way if you have any problems you have all that information in front of you and they will take you more serious if you have to call back.
