Description of service
I boarded my Lab for 5 days in December at $39 per day. The boarding kennel made sure he was fed, had a clean kennel, and also took him out to play at a dog park 3 times a day.
Review of Service
The service I received from this kennel was excellent. They didn't have any problems with him. They allowed me to bring the food that he was already on so that there would be no stomach issues with switching foods. He did not seem "disturbed" in any way when I picked him up, and he was clean. They have stringent guidelines on having the dogs' vaccinations up to date. Though it was a little pricey in comparison to other kennels, the quality of service more than made up for it.
Tips
We decided on this particular kennel after calling and visiting several different places. When you go to visit kennels, make sure and ask how they operate (i.e. - How many times a day are the dogs exercised? Can you bring your own food? or do they have to eat what the boarding place has? If so, what type of food is it?) Ask for permission to go back and see the facilities. Look to see if the kennels are cleaned. Is there feces everywhere? Are blankets soiled? Look also to see what type of barrier there is between the animals - if one dog has kennel cough, are the kennels set up in such a way that all the animals are likely to get sick?
